The Role

CHECK PILOT - BARON 58

Aviair, formerly known as Slingair, was founded in 1984 and has been under local Kununurra ownership since April 2016. We are a multi-award-winning regional airline, with significant operations in Kununurra, Broome, Karratha, and Adelaide. With in-house aircraft maintenance facilities, we have approximately thirty aircraft including Beechcraft Super King Air, Cessna Citation Mustang, Cessna Grand Caravan, Pilatus PC-12's and both twin and single piston engine aircraft. Our business is founded on the twin principles of safety and service – both being areas where we will not compromise. About the position

Aviair is looking for an experienced check pilot or instructor to join our flight operations team as a check pilot. As a check pilot you will be based in Broome and will travel to our Company bases from time to time to deliver training and checking.

To be considered for this role you will be a highly proficient pilot who holds a valid instructor rating or has experience as a check pilot. Additionally, you will have at least 100 hrs on the Baron 58.

In addition to meeting the minimum experience and qualifications, you will need to demonstrate that you have enthusiasm, energy, a high level of personal presentation, and have excellent people and communication skills. About the position
As a Baron and Cessna C208 pilot based in Port Hedland, you can expect diverse flying opportunities throughout regional Western Australia. This includes, day and night flying, single pilot operations, Charter, Search and Rescue.

Training is provided through our CASA approved Training and Checking organisation which trains pilots in a combination of abnormal and emergency procedures using the aircraft and is complemented with a detailed line training programme. 

In addition to flying duties, pilots are expected to assist with the following duties:

• cleaning of aircraft;
• assisting the operations team as required;
• assisting other pilots with pre- and post-flight duties;
• general maintenance of the base.

OPERATIONS AND CLIENT EXPERIENCE OFFICER

Aviair is seeking to appoint an Operations and Client Experience Officer to provide a high level of customer service and operational oversight at our Broome base. Our Broome base comprises of a growing team of Operations and Customer Service staff along with Pilots, Engineers and some of the Company’s corporate team. We operate scheduled services throughout the Kimberley & Pilbara and charter flights for corporate and contract clientele.

As an Operations and Client Experience Officer, you will be responsible for the daily management of the flying schedule with a strong focus on coordinating services for all flight crew and clients, and in ensuring operations are running in a safe, systematic and efficient manner with a focus on high levels of quality and procedural process. From the moment a passenger arrives in the Aviair terminal, you are responsible for their movements to ensure a transfer that is safe, efficient and courteous.

Operations and Client Experience Officers operate the check-in counters, switch-board and email, and provide front-line customer service. This role will also see you managing aspects of the reservations for all our valued clients, including public passenger and charter. You will also be responsible for ground operations and office administration within the Aviair Broome Terminal, and for coordination of charter flights and freight distribution in conjunction with the Operations Manager. The role also requires regular contact with clients, senior managers within Aviair and other key stakeholders.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- Maintain an exemplary level of customer service within the office for all passengers, guests and team members;
- Coordinating the operation of charter and scheduled flights and bookings, and allocating flight services according to the service level agreements and contractual requirements;
- Ground operations, including but not limited to check-in, baggage & freight acceptance and facilitation of flight departures and arrivals;
- Point of contact for regular charter clients and destinations with regard to schedule changes, delays and general enquiries. Liaise and confirm services for contract clients; and
- Administration duties to ensure the smooth operation of the base, including but not limited to general inventory and ordering, banking, mail, and office upkeep. 

The successful applicant will have:

- Communication skills across all demographics and ability to develop and sustain relationships;
- Well-developed problem-solving skills with strong level of initiative and be proactive in seeking solutions;
- Ability to apply a high level of attention to detail across all tasks and previous experience working within a shared team environment;
- Excellence in customer service with the ability to tailor experiences according to each client’s desired outcome;
- Knowledge and intermediate skill for use of Microsoft Office Suite and be assured using computers and software programs;
- Fitness to be physically capable of manoeuvring luggage and freight;
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), including a Police Clearance; and
- Hold a current C class driver’s licence.

About the role:

To support the ongoing growth across the Group, we are now seeking to appoint a Full Time Travel & Property Management Coordinator. The position can be based in either our Kununurra or Broome offices. You will be the contact for all travel and employee housing related matters.

Key duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Staff travel, including booking flights, hotels and car hire
- Coordinating the allocation of company housing across various towns
- Coordinating the cleaning and maintenance of company housing
- Prepare and ensure all documentation related to employee housing is executed and saved
- Act as the main point of contact with external property management agents for the purpose of required maintenance and routine inspections
- Undertaking regular property inspections
- Liaising regularly with key personnel at the various bases relating to employee housing
- Maintaining accurate inventories of all company owned furniture
- Obtaining quotes and approval for the purchase of required furniture and fittings
 

Required skills, experience and attributes:

- Previous experience in either a travel or property management background will be viewed favourably
- It’s essential that you have a demonstrated background in providing a high level of office support in a busy work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook, including proficiency in producing various documents and spreadsheets
- Ability to effectively work in a busy environment with often conflicting priorities is essential

B1 LICENCED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS

- Be highly motivated with a strong work ethic

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels

Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

- Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with the aircraft’s approved maintenance data
- Ensuring all parts and materials are airworthy and appropriate for their application

GROUP SAFETY MANAGER

The HM Consolidated (HMC) Group has operations in some of the most iconic regions of Australia and is looking for an experienced Group Safety Manager to join our vibrant team. The Group has offices in Perth, Kununurra, Broome, Karratha and Adelaide and a total staff of approximately 200 employees.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Safety, the primary responsibility of the Group Safety Manager is to mange the operational aspects of the Group Safety Management Systems and continually monitor to identify initiatives to improve and develop operational efficiencies. There is flexibility for the successful candidate to be based in Perth, Kununurra, Broome or Karratha.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Manage the operation of the Safety Management System, including safety promotion, safety training and safety assurance
- Provide a risk-based approach to safety management that identifies and effectively manages risks within the businesses and assures a proactive approach to risk analysis and mitigation
- Provide an effective hazard and incident reporting framework based on 'Just Culture' principles and personnel engagement
- In conjunction with the Safety department, monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Management System and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ensure all safety and compliance training requirements are met, including identifying ongoing safety training requirements
- Conduct and/or coordinate incident and accident investigations to determine causal factors and recommend preventative actions
- Assist with the Management of Change (MOC) process and ensure that risks are captured in the Operational Risk Register
- Responsible for the continued establishment and management of the Operational Risk Register
- Review investigations conducted by other safety investigators to ensure the adequacy of the investigation, report, and closure of findings in a timely manner
- Responsible for the continued establishment and management of the Safety Management System manual suites, including the Safety Management System Manuals (SMSM), - -Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and Drug & Alcohol Management Plans (DAMP)
- Promote safety compliance and continual improvement
- Conduct and/or oversee safety department related internal and external audits, including preparing audit reports, and raising and closing findings in a timely manner
- Participate in third party audits 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required

- While experience in aviation will be highly regarded a candidate from outside the sector with a strong background in managing Safety Management Systems will also be considered
- Safety management experience (preferably in aviation but can also be in another high-risk industry) and a demonstrated understanding of Safety Management Systems
- Significant aptitude in analytical and problem-solving skills
- A demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and techniques to support a proactive Safety Management System
- Demonstrated ability to be firm in conviction and promote a “Just Culture” in an open and non-punitive environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a confident and positive manner
- Demonstrated excellent written communication skills
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and preferably Air Maestro
- Manual authoring experience
- Qualify to be approved by CASA as a CASR Part 145 Form 4 holder
- Ability to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
