For keen explorers and hikers this tour is a must. Explore where few have stepped foot before.
For the fit and adventurous, this tour leads you into the heart of the Bungle Bungle Range with a 10km return hike into the deep chasm of Piccaninny Gorge. Fly over some of the Kimberley’s landmark attractions by plane; Lake Argyle, Argyle Diamond Mine, Bungle Bungle, Ord Irrigation Area. Next you will join an early morning helicopter flight dropping you and your guide off at the “Elbow”, where Piccaninny Creek bends into the range. Hike through the towering canyons of Picaninny Gorge on an unmarked track. In the afternoon your helicopter will pick you up and fly you back to the airstrip for your return flight to Kununurra.
A high level of fitness and mobility is required. The walk is classified as level 5 - difficult and challenging . The tour includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and cold water throughout.
This is a very long tour when done in one day and therefore we recommend that if you have the time, then stay overnight in Purnululu National Park at Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge and fly back the next day. The additional cost is $297pp for dinner, bed and breakfast. You can stay longer and explore further if you wish, please ask our friendly Kimberley Specialists for local information and recommendations.
