OPERATIONS AND CLIENT EXPERIENCE OFFICER - KARRATHA

Aviair and HeliSpirit is seeking to appoint an Operations and Client Experience Officer to provide a high level of customer service at our Karratha base.

Our Karratha base comprises a small team of Operations and Customer Service staff, Pilots and Engineers. We operate scheduled services throughout the Pilbara and charter flights for corporate and contract clientele. Our helicopter services cover tourism and charter operations.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- Providing a professional, friendly, and welcoming level of customer service at all times
- Ground operations, including but not limited to check-in, baggage acceptance and facilitation of flight departures and arrivals
- Handling reservations and tourism packages for HeliSpirit
- Administration duties to ensure the smooth operation of the base, including but not limited to reconciliation of cash and EFTPOS, banking, mail, and maintenance of office supplies
- Coordinating the operation of charter flights and freight distribution

Experience, skills and attributes required:

- Previous experience in a customer service focused role with a proven track record of working independently

GROUND HANDLER/AIRCRAFT DETAILER

Aviair is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking person to fulfill ground handling duties at our Broome base on a full time basis.  The Ground Handler/Aircraft Detailer is a key liaison role between the Senior Base Pilot and Base Managers with responsibility for ensuring a smooth operation of ground support services and maintaining a high standard of presentation of aircraft, vehicles and premises.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

- Performing aircraft and vehicle cleaning
- Providing assistance in cleaning of maintenance facilities
- Performing ground support in dispatch and receipt of flights
- Providing ground support to aircrew by preparing and securing aircraft, and, passenger and freight handling
- Operating and driving aircraft service equipment
- Undertaking bus transfers as required for passengers and freight

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Safety, the primary responsibility of the Group Safety Manager is to mange the operational aspects of the Group Safety Management Systems and continually monitor to identify initiatives to improve and develop operational efficiencies. There is flexibility for the successful candidate to be based in Perth, Kununurra, Broome or Karratha.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Manage the operation of the Safety Management System, including safety promotion, safety training and safety assurance
- Provide a risk-based approach to safety management that identifies and effectively manages risks within the businesses and assures a proactive approach to risk analysis and mitigation
- Provide an effective hazard and incident reporting framework based on 'Just Culture' principles and personnel engagement
- In conjunction with the Safety department, monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Management System and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ensure all safety and compliance training requirements are met, including identifying ongoing safety training requirements
- Conduct and/or coordinate incident and accident investigations to determine causal factors and recommend preventative actions
- Assist with the Management of Change (MOC) process and ensure that risks are captured in the Operational Risk Register
- Responsible for the continued establishment and management of the Operational Risk Register
- Review investigations conducted by other safety investigators to ensure the adequacy of the investigation, report, and closure of findings in a timely manner
- Responsible for the continued establishment and management of the Safety Management System manual suites, including the Safety Management System Manuals (SMSM), Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and Drug & Alcohol Management Plans (DAMP)
- Promote safety compliance and continual improvement
- Conduct and/or oversee safety department related internal and external audits, including preparing audit reports, and raising and closing findings in a timely manner
- Participate in third party audits

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required:

- While experience in aviation will be highly regarded a candidate from outside the sector with a strong background in managing Safety Management Systems will also be considered
- Safety management experience (preferably in aviation but can also be in another high-risk industry) and a demonstrated understanding of Safety Management Systems
- Significant aptitude in analytical and problem-solving skills
- A demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and techniques to support a proactive Safety Management System
- Demonstrated ability to be firm in conviction and promote a “Just Culture” in an open and non-punitive environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a confident and positive manner
- Demonstrated excellent written communication skills

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists within our training department for a suitably experienced individual to join the team as Crew Records, Compliance and Training Coordinator on a Full-Time basis.

Reporting to the Head of Training, this position will suit an individual with a strong administration and coordination background that has excellent attention to detail and prides themselves on a high degree of accuracy in their work.

Key duties and responsibilities 

- Ensure all Check Pilot and Instructor movements and course logistics are delivered on time
- Communicate to new and existing Aircrew regarding training plans, logistics and changes to required course schedules
- Assist with the development and distribution of monthly Training Plans, including expiry reports, and Check Pilot/Instructor rosters
- Liaise with Senior Base Pilots to ensure all training and checking requirements are achieved and coordinated efficiently on a daily basis
- Ensure all aircrew records are received in a timely manner and certificates are compliant in the crew database (crew records)
- Coordinate the training and checking on a daily basis for Aircrew
- Coordinate the induction of new Aircrew, ensuring efficient, cost effective and compliant induction 
- Plan and book all training facilities, simulators, aircraft, classrooms, and requirements in support of the Training Plans in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Ensure that Aircrew have satisfactorily completed all necessary training courses and proficiency checks as specified in the Company Operations Manual(s) and pertinent legislation
- Liaise with Check Pilots, Instructors and Senior Base pilots to ensure all proficiency checks and training courses are rostered in timely manner to ensure operational validity
- Manage crew legalities and expiries in the Air Maestro and One Drive database to ensure Aircrew compliance
- Manage crew documents in Air Maestro and One Drive ensuring the CASA and Company rules and regulations are met
- Manage compliance sign-off for all aircrew training records ensuring that training is completed in the correct sequence. Ensure Aircrew are compliant and meet all CASA regulations and company requirements
- Administer a register for Instrument of Ratings/Approvals, Training and Checking Approvals, Dangerous Goods, CAO 20.11 (Emergency Procedures) Approvals and Company Approved Instructors and Check Pilots
- Conduct audits of Crew Records
- Ensure all Ground Instructors have access to both hard copies and electronic courseware and required training resources in a timely manner
- Ensure the delivery of training and checking packages is coordinated effectively

Reporting to the Head of Training, we are seeking an experienced Pilot, that has a strong passion and flair for training material development and delivery.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Development, implementation, and standardisation of Aircrew Emergency Procedures training, initial and recurrent
- Manage the development, implementation, and standardisation of Aircrew Dangerous Goods Awareness training, initial and recurrent
- Recruitment, development, and management of certification of EP/HF instructors
- Manage 20.11 approved Emergency Procedures Instructors in areas of training, competency, and performance
- Development, compliance and security of examinations, assessments, and courseware
- Responsible for General Emergency EP training and assessments for Aircrew
- Manage the periodic reviews of training course content and delivery methods of examinations, assessment criteria and courseware related to ground training
- Maintain a record of Ground Training facilities, equipment and training aids, including serviceability responsibilities
- Coordinate and develop effective, efficient, and high-quality training courseware in support of operations, in compliance with company policy and procedures and the relevant legislation; also manage and maintain a quality system for the development and oversight of Aircrew Instructor standards
- Designing, developing, and delivering the ground training courses in accordance with CASA and company approved syllabi, utilising competency-based training methodologies
- Coordinating and maintaining ground training instructional standards and performance through initial and on-going training regular audits and feedback via performance reviews
- Coordination of Ground Instructor's initial and on-going certification and qualifications to meet company compliance requirements
- Coordination and development of Aircrew examination and assessment content for all aircrew courses to meet legislative and company requirements
- Liaise with the writers of company manuals and management to ensure that regulations, procedures, and policies are reflected in company courses in a timely manner
- Monitor operational standards and compliance with the requirements of the company operations manual(s)
- Ensure all Ground Instructors have access to both hard copies and electronic courseware and required training resources in a timely manner
- Ensure the delivery of training and checking packages is coordinated effectively

The successful candidate will have:

- CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (A)
- Part 121/135 airline training experience (preferable)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent 
- Experience in the development and delivery of Human Factors, Dangerous Goods, and Emergency procedures training
- Past experience and CASA approval as 20.11 emergency procedures instructor
- Be able to present to an audience in a clear and engaging manner

Aviair is seeking to appoint an Operations and Client Experience Officer to provide a high level of customer service and operational oversight at our Broome base.

Our Broome base comprises of a growing team of Operations and Customer Service staff along with Pilots, Engineers, and some of the Company’s corporate team. We operate scheduled services throughout the Kimberley & Pilbara and charter flights for corporate and contract clientele. 

As an Operations and Client Experience Officer, you will be responsible for the daily management of the flying schedule with a strong focus on coordinating services for all flight crew and clients, and in ensuring operations are running in a safe, systematic, and efficient manner with a focus on high levels of quality and procedural process. From the moment a passenger arrives in the Aviair terminal, you are responsible for their movements to ensure a transfer that is safe, efficient, and courteous. Operations and Client Experience Officers operate the check-in counters, switchboard, and email, and provide front-line customer service. This role will also see you managing aspects of the reservations for all our valued clients, including public passengers and charter. You will also be responsible for ground operations and office administration within the Aviair Broome Terminal, and for coordination of charter flights and freight distribution in conjunction with the Operations Manager. The role also requires regular contact with clients, senior managers within Aviair and other key stakeholders.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- Maintain an exemplary level of customer service within the office for all passengers, guests, and team members
- Coordinating the operation of charter and scheduled flights and bookings, and allocating flight services according to the service level agreements and contractual requirements
- Ground operations, including but not limited to check-in, baggage & freight acceptance and facilitation of flight departures and arrivals
- Point of contact for regular charter clients and destinations with regard to schedule changes, delays and general enquiries. Liaise and confirm services for contract clients; and
- Administration duties to ensure the smooth operation of the base, including but not limited to general inventory and ordering, banking, mail, and office upkeep.

Aviair are seeking a Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager to assist the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) in all aspects of aircraft airworthiness and maintenance control. The role will ideally be based in Broome; however, flexible options may be considered for the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

·        Development and review of the CAMO suite of manuals;

·        Conduct of airworthiness reviews;

·        Assessment of mandatory and non-mandatory ICA;

·        Development and review of aircraft schedules managed within the maintenance tracking software;

·        Liaising with Aviair and external AMOs regarding maintenance requirements;

·        Liaising with aircrew regarding aircraft serviceability and procedures;

·        Liaising with CASA and OEMs on airworthiness and maintenance control matters;

Key Skills and Attributes Required:

·        Comprehensive knowledge of the CAMO exposition and legislation;

·        Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance programs, reliability programs, ASETPA and MEL requirements;

·        High aptitude with CMMS and MS Office suite;

·        Extensive industry experience;

·        Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC; and

·        Hold or have held an AME licence and/or meet the requirements applicable to the CAM as defined by the Part 42 MOS.

Aviair is a leading aviation company with its head office located in Kununurra and key bases located in Adelaide, Broome and Karratha. Aviair proudly provides extensive charter, RPT and tourism services across the Kimberley and Pilbara with a fleet of approximately 30 aircraft. Aviair predominately maintains is own fleet which includes C510, B200, C208, PC12 and GA8 aircraft.

Due to our continuous growth and exciting new opportunities, we are seeking positive and safety focused licenced and non-licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME’s & AME’s) to join our Part 145 AMO team at both Broome & Kununurra.

BROOME GROUND HANDLER/AIRCRAFT DETAILER - FULL TIME SEASONAL

Primary Purpose:

Aviair is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking person to fulfill the ground handling duties at their Broome base. The person will be in charge of looking after things behind the scenes to keep our ground services running smoothly and to the highest standard of presentation. This person is filling a key liaison role between the senior base pilot and base managers in order to achieve positive outcomes for Company assets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-        Perform aircraft and vehicle cleaning;

-        Provide assistance in cleaning of maintenance facilities;

-        Performing ground support in dispatch and receipt of flights;

-        Provide ground support to aircrew by preparing and securing aircraft, and, passenger and freight handling;

-        Operating and driving aircraft service equipment;

-        Conduct bus transfer as required for passengers and freight;

-        Record keeping and documentation of service and cleaning activities;

-        Comply with Company OH&S policies, site security procedures, and, Drug and Alcohol Management Plan; and

-        Other duties as reasonably required and directed by supervisors.

 

Key skills and attributes required:

-        Efficient time management and impeccable attention to detail;

-        Excellence in face-to-face customer service;

-        Positive outlook and manner with strong team spirit;

-        Good physical fitness;

-        Ability to obtain and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC); and

-        Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, Public Holidays and split shifts.

PILOT RECRUITMENT

Aviair is a multi-award winning regional airline, specialising in charter, regular public transport (RPT), and scenic air tour operations. Our head office is in Kununurra, and we have large operations in both Broome and Karratha, Western Australia.

About you
In addition to meeting the minimum experience and qualifications, you will need to demonstrate that you have enthusiasm, energy, a high level of personal presentation, and have excellent people and communication skills. You will also have a positive attitude with the ability to be solution focused in challenging situations.

Minimum experience and qualifications:   

- CASA commercial pilot licence (A)      
- CASA class 1 aviation medical     
- 1000 hours total experience       
- 500 hours as pilot in command
- 25 hours night
- Valid instrument rating
- Valid dangerous goods acceptance certificate
- Valid provide first aid certificate
- Valid Australian drivers licence
- Valid ASIC
 
Desirable qualifications/experience in one or more of the following aircraft:

- C208 experience
- PC12 experience
- BE20 experience       
- 2 Instrument Renewals
