Trade Assistant

 Aviair Broome are seeking a Trade Assistant to provide technical assistance to the aircraft engineering team and perform other tasks as operationally required.

 The role is full time and will suit someone with a proven mechanical aptitude.

 Role requirements include:

Ability to use hand tools and other associated equipment
Able to interpret workshop manuals and other technical literature
Able to start work at 0600
Proficient MIG welding skills
WA driver’s licence
Fork lift licence

B1 LAME – Aviair Broome

Aviair is a major regional aviation company with headquarters in Kununurra and other key bases in Broome and Karratha WA. Aviair provides charter, RPT and tourism services to the regions and operate their own aircraft maintenance facilities. The fleet includes B200, C208, PC12 and GA8 aircraft.

To support our growth, we are seeking a B1 LAME who is a positive and safety focussed team player to join our Broome team.  This opportunity would suit someone looking for the lifestyle change that only the Kimberley and Pilbara can provide!

To be successful in this role you must have:

  •          A CASR Part 66 B1 Aircraft Engineer Licence
  •          Relevant fleet experience
  •          At least 6 months of relevant aircraft or aeronautical product maintenance experience in the preceding 2 years
  •          Computer literacy
  •          ASIC eligibility

Duties and responsibilities of the role include:

·         Performing aircraft maintenance in accordance with the provisions of the aircraft approved maintenance data

·         In conjunction with the Stores Supervisor, ensuring all parts and materials are airworthy and appropriate for their fitment

·         Ensuring that work undertaken is carried out safely, in line with the best industry practices, with the most efficient and economical use of labour, materials and other resources

·         Maintaining the work area in a clean and tidy state

·         Ensuring that Aviair policies, procedures and instructions are adhered to for all maintenance

·         Reporting all defects or faults identified during the course of aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance

·         Ensuring that all worksheets and documents are signed as work is completed, ensuring a comprehensive hand-over is carried out as required and maintaining up-to-date information including accurate man-hour                                    recording

·         Maintaining required authorisations, licences and approvals as required (including Aircraft Engineer Licence, ASIC and Airside Drivers Licence)

·         Keeping the Senior Base Engineer informed on progress of the task allocated and any problems which may affect the completion including defects, deficiencies in spares, tooling, ground support and test                                                equipment

·         Reporting to the Group Quality Manager and Head of Maintenance any deviation from procedures

·         Providing guidance and instruction to apprentices and unlicensed engineers as required

·         Adhering to the Aviair Quality & Safety Policy

·         Maintaining currency with respect to all relevant documentation and the revision status of company manuals

·         Liaising with Head of Maintenance and SBE to ensure timely completion of maintenance and engineering activities and providing regular updates as time frames are revised

·         Other duties as directed by the Head of Maintenance and Senior Base Engineer

Aviair Customer Service Officer – Kununurra Base

Aviair is accepting expressions of interest for our 2019 recruitment program. Each season, Aviair is seeking positive and confident team players who are motivated to provide an exemplary level of customer service representing several affiliated tourism companies in the East Kimberley.

This role will see you managing all aspects of the reservations experience for public passengers, visitors to the region, as well as tailoring unique tourism packages for clients interested in Aviair’s products. You will also be responsible for coordinating the operation of charter flights from our Kununurra and Karratha bases.

Previous experience in aviation or tourism is preferred but not essential, as full training and ongoing support is provided to strong candidates who can demonstrate dedication and willingness to learn new skills.

Successful applicants will possess high level computer literacy and excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills. They will be highly organised, self-motivating, and be passionate about providing the best Kimberley experience to every client.

Regional Pilots

Aviair is a leading aviation provider in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia, providing a range of RPT, charter, tourism, and air work flight operation services. Aviair is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified professional pilots to fill Line Pilot positions at Aviair’s bases in Kununurra, Broome and Karratha, WA.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

-       CASA CPL (A)

-       CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical

-       2500 hours total flying time

-       Valid Single Engine Instrument Rating

-       Minimum 100 hours night flying time

-       Completed PC12 training and flight review

-       Relevant qualifications or 5 years’ experience as a pilot

This role forms part of the Aviair Flight Operations team and takes direction from the Chief Pilot. The role has regulatory and company standard operating procedures which must be strictly adhered too and requires a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

-       Make Safety the first consideration

-       Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations when acting as Pilot in Command

-       When acting as Pilot in command, company pilots have additional responsibilities as specified in the Operations Manual

-       Ensure that the correct loading of the aircraft

-       Organise aircraft fuel and oil requirements

-       Ensure maximum comfort and courtesy towards passengers and company customers

-       Maintain a neat personal appearance and uniform as required by the company

-       After each flight detailing the aircraft's cowls, gear doors, landing gear, oleos and any exterior areas that require cleaning, including aircraft windows.  Aircraft interiors shall be left clean and tidy after each flight, including vacuuming when required.  Aircraft washing as required is also included.

-       Ensure that all flight and duty requirements are observed

-       Aim for maximum economy of operation of company equipment

-       Initiative and planning for safe and efficient operations

-       Observe the policies and regulations laid down by the company and the authority at all time

-       Keep accurate and up to date records

-       Other duties as reasonably requested by the Chief Pilot and/or Managing Director

PILOT RECRUITMENT

Aviair pilot recruitment is ongoing and we encourage expressions of interest from suitably experienced pilots.

Pilot minimum requirements are:

  • Total Time: 600 hours
  • IFR PIC on a plan: 125 hours (150 desirable)
  • Night Time: 25 hours (50 desirable)
