Safety Manager (based in Broome WA)

Aviair Pty Ltd is a charter, RPT, and tourism aviation company with headquarters in Kununurra WA, and also bases at Broome and Karratha.

Aviair is seeking a positive and confident team player to be our Safety Manager, based in Broome WA. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that safety is effectively managed as Aviair’s number one priority. The Safety Manager will be responsible for the continued development and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) within Aviair in close co-operation with the Group Safety Manager. You will advise senior management and department heads on safety management matters and be responsible for coordinating and communicating safety issues within the organisation, as well as with external stakeholders.  The scope of operations covered by the Aviair SMS includes flight, ground, engineering and airworthiness management operations.

The Safety Manager will also be responsible for the development and implementation of organisational safety goals and objectives, continually improving hazard identification and risk assessment, co-ordinating and supporting both internal and external audits and safety training, developing and maintaining safety records, reports, and documentation, managing safety meetings and ensuing minutes are actioned, assisting in SMS implementation across other business units within the Company group, and other tasks as required to ensure Aviair is regarded as a leader in Safety Management within Aviation.

The successful applicant will have extensive safety/quality management experience, a proven track record of working in a team with high attention to detail, possess high level computer literacy and excellent professional communication skills. They will be organised, self-motivating, and be willing to perform a wide variety of duties within their role. Aviation experience is preferred, but not essential.

Aircraft Detailer / Hangar Assistant, Full-Time Seasonal

Primary Purpose:

To ensure a high level of aircraft and vehicle presentation and cleanliness, both internal and external, across the assets of Aviair and HeliSpirit at the Kununurra base, and assist with general hangar duties as required.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

-       Perform aircraft and vehicle interior and exterior cleaning within established operating procedures

-       Work with pilots to ensure all aircraft are kept to a high level of cleanliness

-       Clean cabin, crew, cockpit and cargo areas

-       Apply polishes and disinfectants to restore the condition of an aircraft between flights

-       Use cleaning materials, solutions and chemicals as directed in the MSDS

-       Ability to learn the different types of aircraft and their individual cleaning requirements

-       Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and assigned assets or vehicles

-       Provide assistance in cleaning the hangars and facilities

-       Comply with Company OH&S policies, site security procedures and Drug and Alcohol Management Plan

-       Other duties as reasonably required

 

Key skills and attributes required:

-       Reasonable physical fitness and ability to reach, bend, twist, and lift

-       Possess an ASIC, or ability to obtain one

-       Ability to work flexible hours

PILOT RECRUITMENT

Aviair pilot recruitment is ongoing and we encourage expressions of interest from suitably experienced pilots.

Pilot minimum requirements are:

  • Total Time: 600 hours
  • IFR PIC on a plan: 125 hours (150 desirable)
  • Night Time: 25 hours (50 desirable)
