The Kimberley Experiences Group is seeking positive and confident team players who are motivated to provide an exemplary level of customer service representing several affiliated tourism companies in the East Kimberley.

Based in the Aviair Head Office, this role will see you managing all aspects of the reservations experience for public passengers, visitors to the region, and private charter clients, as well as tailoring unique tourism packages for clients interested in Aviair, HeliSpirit, Bungle Bungle Guided Tours and Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge products.

You will also be responsible for providing operational support, including check-in and dispatch of flights from our Aviair Kununurra base, and coordinating with remote bases to ensure that all flight networks operate efficiently and on time.

Previous experience in aviation or tourism is preferred but not essential, as full training and ongoing support is provided to strong candidates who can demonstrate dedication and willingness to learn new skills.

Successful applicants will possess high level computer literacy and excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills. They will be highly organised, self-motivating, and be passionate about providing the best Kimberley experience to every client.

Working hours are on a roster basis, comprise 80 hours per fortnight, include weekend shifts and some early starts. Successful applicants will be required to comply with Aviation Drug and Alcohol Management Policies and undertake a Criminal History Check.

Aviair is a Multi-award winning regional airline, specialising in charter, regular public transport (RPT), and scenic air tour operations. Our head office is in Kununurra, and we have large operations in both Broome and Karratha, Western Australia.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified professional pilots who wish to be part of an exciting and dynamic company.

About the role

As a tourism pilot you can expect regular flying through the spectacular Kimberley region, including the world heritage listed Purnululu National Park and the remote Mitchell Falls and Kimberley Coast areas. You will be expected to embody Aviair’s twin principles of safety and service at all times.

In addition to your flying duties, you can expect to be exposed to a range of other duties including:

·       picking up and dropping off passengers;

·       cleaning of aircraft;

·       assisting the operations team as required;

·       assisting other pilots with pre- and post-flight duties;

·       general maintenance of the base.

This is a seasonal position based in Kununurra with the potential for full time work subject to performance and availability. In all cases the previous year’s seasonal pilots are extended priority when being considered for the next years seasonal work.


About you

In addition to meeting the minimum experience and qualifications, you will need to demonstrate that you have enthusiasm, energy, a high level of personal presentation, and have excellent people and communication skills. You will also have a positive attitude with the ability to be solution focussed in challenging situations.

Minimum experience and qualifications

·       CASA commercial pilot licence (A)

·       CASA class 1 aviation medical

·       1000 hours total experience

·       500 hours as pilot in command

·       25 hours night

·       Valid instrument rating

·       Valid dangerous goods acceptance certificate

·       Valid provide first aid certificate

·       Valid Australian drivers licence

·       Valid ASIC

Desirable qualifications/experience

·       GA8 Experience

·       C208 Experience

·       2 Instrument Renewals

Aviair pilot recruitment is ongoing and we encourage expressions of interest from suitably experienced pilots. Aviair's flying is a mixture of both VFR and IFR and is operated both single-pilot and multi-crew. Progression within the company and on to more complex aircraft types is performance based. All crew members will have a current medical, ASIC, first aid certificate, dangerous goods awareness certificate and light rigid vehicle licence prior to employment.

Aviair’s minimum pilot requirements are:

·                  Total Time: 600 hours

·                  IFR PIC on a plan: 125 hours (150 desirable)

·                  Night Time: 25 hours (50 desirable)
