Multi-award winning Aviair is a regional airline, charter flight operator, regular public transport (RPT) operator and a scenic air tour operator. Our head office is in Kununurra, the Kimberley, and we have large operations at both Broome and at Karratha, Western Australia.
Aviair’s fleet of 33 aircraft include; Pilatus PC12 pressurised single-engine turbine aeroplanes, B200 King Air twin turbine aeroplanes, Cessna 208 propjet Caravans, Beechcraft Baron, Cessna 210 and GA8 Airvan types.
Aviair’s mission capabilities include: regular public transport (RPT), passenger charter, mining company FIFO, air freight, RFDS clinic flights, RASS remote area services, search and rescue flights, aerial geophysical work, photography flights, scenic flights and tailor-made itineraries.
Aviair’s business foundation is the twin principles of safety and service – both being areas where we will not compromise. Safety is key in all that we do and leads through to delivering the best service to our customers.
Aviair is the specialist when it comes to touring the spectacular Kimberley region, including the world heritage listed Purnululu National Park where the Bungle Bungle range enthrals visitors. The remote Mitchell Falls and Kimberley Coast are equally spectacular in their natural beauty and an air tour is the best way to explore. With scenic air tours, charters, accommodated air safaris, links to thrilling helicopter flights and walking tours, Aviair can show you the best Northern Australia has to offer.
Aviair has private airport terminals at Kununurra Airport, Broome Airport and Karratha Airport.
Aviair, formerly known as Slingair, was founded by Kerry Slingsby in Kununurra in 1984 and more recently was owned by the Aviator Group, a private equity group based in Sydney. Under local Kununurra ownership since April 2016, Aviair is owned by Michael McConachy (Managing Director) and Geoff Hamilton, who are co-owners of the well known helicopter business, HeliSpirit, operating 26 helicopters across WA and the NT.
Aviair and our team are committed supporters of the Kimberley and Pilbara community and we support many community organisations and events with sponsorship and services. In 2021 we are proud to be the naming rights sponsor of the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience concert on the shores of Lake Kununurra.
Aviair acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands throughout the regions in which we live, work and welcome visitors from afar. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures, and the Elders past, present and emerging. Aviair is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, and their rich contribution to society.
