New Aviair flight service: Derby to Broome
 

Aviair are pleased to announce a new flight route from Derby to Broome as part of their Kimberley regional flight services.

The new flight route, which runs three times a week, will allow for greater options for Derby residents to travel outside of the West Kimberley.

Aviair’s Derby to Broome flight service has been scheduled to connect with flights from Broome to Perth allowing efficient transfers in Broome.

Aviair Managing Director, Michael McConachy, said he was delighted Aviair could now provide this service to the Derby community.  

“I am confident this service will assist Derby to continue to grow as a key regional Kimberley town and service centre, allowing Derby residents to efficiently link with Broome and Perth via a frequent and reliable air service”, Mr McConachy said.

“It also provides a cost-effective travel option for both service providers and leisure travellers to access Derby and the surrounding region.”

The 40-minute flight, which will launch 16th August 2021, will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays is $119 each way and includes 23 kilograms of checked luggage.

“With the residents of Derby at the forefront of our planning for this service, it was imperative for us to be able to offer this increased baggage allowance to fit in line with connecting services”, Mr McConachy said.

Aviair’s network currently spans across the Kimberley and Pilbara servicing the communities of Kununurra, Halls Creek, Balgo and Kalumburu, as well as Broome, Newman, Port Hedland and Karratha.

“Expanding this service to the West Kimberley and in particular Derby has been a key objective of Aviair for a number of years. I feel immensely proud of our team at Aviair to make this flight route a reality”, Mr McConachy said.

“Aviair will continue to work with key stakeholders to ensure this service fulfills demand and supports the residents of Derby.”
