This much needed service will connect with domestic services from Kununurra and provide residents of Halls Creek with low cost travel from Halls Creek . The service will also enable Halls Creek and Kununurra workers the opportunity to travel between the towns in just over 1 hour rather than the 4-hour drive. This will save government agencies and businesses both time and money.
There will be 3 types of airfare offered from Halls Creek residents, non-residents and business, State public servants and Remote Air Subsidy (RASS) passengers.
The usual Remote Area Subsidy Scheme (RASS) route conducted on a Wednesday and Thursday will continue as usual, however there will be a slight adjustment to the scheduled time of departure to allow connections with the Halls Creek to Kununurra service.
Managing director of Aviair, Michael McConachy, said “Aviair is delighted to be in a position to provide the much needed service between Kununurra and Halls Creek. There have been many people working very hard over a long period of time to get this service up and running” Mr McConachy also said that “Aviair hopes to announce additional RPT services in the near future.”
