The airline is to change its name in September 2014 from Slingair to Aviair. Aviair will continue to service existing corporate and leisure clients with an even greater degree of service delivery.
Peter Nottle, Aviair’s Kununurra based General Manager said: “This multi tourism award winning business has operated since 1984 and is the specialist when it comes to tourism aviation in the Kimberley. This stunning, remote region of Western Australia offers expansive and rugged landscapes that create its very own discovery challenge. The Kimberley guards its secrets well unless you take to the air where views are simply stunning and spectacular”.
In addition to offering scenic air safari flights including links with ground touring options that show the best the Kimberley has to offer, Aviair also offers private charter flights to leisure, corporate, and government clients.
Nottle said: “Aviair’s tours have been carefully planned to give customers the best scenic experience possible. Flight paths take in the best view points and ground tours are complimented with the service of established and knowledgeable ground touring partners. Whether a customer wants a charter flight or a tailored air safari including ground touring and accommodation, Aviair will meet their needs”. Aviair will continue to include a helicopter component with a number of its tours.
Aviair solely operates the Cessna 208 Caravan, which it introduced into the Kimberley in 1994. The Cessna 208 Caravan, pictured above, is a turbo prop, air-conditioned, high wing, PA equipped comfortable aircraft. The aircraft offers a centre aisle, greater legroom and headroom than any other scenic flight aircraft in the Kimberley. In addition the safety and reliability record of this aircraft type is one of the highest in its class, thereby maximising passenger safety and comfort. Aviair is proud to operate the youngest fleet of scenic tour aircraft in the Kimberley.
Aviair is a subsidiary of the Aviator Group, a general aviation specialist with operations around Australia. Aviair operates 8 Cessna 208 Caravan turbo prop aircraft each with a 13 passenger seat capacity. The company’s head office is in Kununurra with a base in Broome.
